11:30 a.m. Healthy Homes - Healthy Families Presented by Sarah Lerohl of Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) Learn how to identify toxins in your home and to reduce or eliminate them with simple and effective alternatives. Spend a few minutes whipping up your own green cleaning supplies and swap tips and tricks with others interested in "greening" their home. After- class prize drawing for attendees.
Noon Steps to get Your Organization or Business to go Sustainable Presented by Nan Stubenvoll of Sustainable Twin Ports (STP)
12:30 p.m. Backyard Composting for Everyone Presented by Susie Darley-Hill of Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) Covering composting basics for first-timers and trouble-shooting for veteran practitioners; free build-it-yourself plans and tips for ready-made composter use. Compost happens, but it takes time. Learn how to start a pile the right way and get that neglected pile back on track before the snow flies! After-class prize drawing for attendees.
1:00 p.m. Heat Your Home with the Sun Presented by Tim Ollhoff of Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL) Tim Ollhoff will discuss the basics of using solar technology for space heating in homes and businesses. Emphasis will be placed on what can be accomplished with solar technology and what cannot, pre-requisite criteria for the use of solar heating, and site based considerations.
1:30 p.m. Rainwater Collection Systems Presented by David Stark of Stark Enterprises, LLC Dave Stark is the President of the Lake Superior Energy Association (LSEA) and owner of Stark Enterprises, LLC and recently became the first American Rainwater Collection System Association (ARCSA) accredited designer in the state of Minnesota. He designs, sources and installs rainwater collection systems and does hydrology and water quality studies that support sustainable land and water use. With a desire to implement what he has learned, he consults with commercial and residential clients on their building projects and provides tours of his home that utilizes passive, active and thermal solar applications, rainwater collection, graywater treatment and composting systems. Dave will have a demonstration rainwater system on display at the fair.

2:30 p.m. Worm Bin Composting Presented by Ellen Sandbeck of Laverme's Worms Worm wrangling expert and green barbarian, Ellen Sandbeck, shares great stories, fascinating facts, and practical tips on the ins and outs of vermicomposting in your home or apartment. Get acquainted with the intriguing creatures that quietly process leftovers without complaint, rewarding their caretakers with rich vermicompost and liquid fertilizer. After-class prize drawing for attendees.
3:00 p.m. Balancing Efficiency & Renewable: Where we've been, where we may be heading. Presented by Michael LeBeau, President of Conservation Technologies
3:30 p.m. "One-Stop-Shop" for a More Efficient Home Presented by Dean Talbott, Program Manage of the Duluth Energy Efficient Program (DEEP) – A residential program accelerating energy efficiency in NE MN. This workshop will include information about – home energy ratings – home performance energy audits – rebates – low interest financing – certified insulation and air sealing contractors – post improvement inspections - and upcoming workshops.
